News • Indiana Governor Signs $30 Billion Budget at Crawford Industries

Crawford Industries had a very exciting visit recently by Indiana’s Governor, Mike Pence. On May 8th, 2013, the Governor was onsite to sign Indiana’s new two-year, $30 billion budget, HEA 1001, into law. This budget praised “its tax relief measures and other provisions as incentives that would lure new investment and jobs to the state” (SFGate).

Crawford Industries can attest to this incredible source of small business support because the state has assisted Crawford Industries in its $5 million expansion project. Because we have experienced how additional support from the state can help make businesses boom, and we are very excited and proud to see Indiana’s support for small business and other departments continue.

While there, the Governor stated, “This is a jobs budget, and it signals that Indiana is open for business…By preserving Indiana’s strong fiscal position, increasing funding for schools and roads, and giving Hoosiers $600 million a year in tax relief, this budget will encourage investment in Indiana” (SFGate).

This budget will bring tremendous value to the state, which will include $190 million being allocated to K-12 education, and over $600 million for roads and infrastructure.

Crawford Industries was pleased to offer our new 7 station printing press, which will be the work horse of our new operation, as the backdrop for the Governor’s signing. Finally, many of our employees had the opportunity to meet and talk with the Governor as he toured the facility.

This is a very proud moment for the state of Indiana, and we are honored to have been a part of it!
